Magazine Editor, Philanthropist, and Brand Architect

Taqkiiyawna Samuels got her start in Event Production at 17 years old throwing high school parties with a classmate. Getting her first taste of entrepreneurship, this continued while she attended UofH and studied Mass Communications. The parties were so successful the pair funded and founded an online magazine. Taqkii led Toxin Magazine, a lifestyle and culture publication as Editor-in-Cheif, Publisher, Magazine layout designer and lead web developer. During this time she produced intimate-med sized events, been an official media partner for Nolcha Fashion Week & Style Fashion Week and shot at all of your favorite artists concerts. in 2012, Taqkiiyawna put a board of directors together to found Toxin Youth Foundation, a social welfare non-profit organization in Houston, TX. TYF quickly became Taqkii's main focus, She dedicated 100% of her time to the organization. To supplement income Taqkii began to help mold different startup brands online presence through custom website design. Later designing logos, business cards, flyers, posters, and other artwork for clients from all over the US.
